Selank is a synthetic tuftsin-derived heptapeptide studied in Russian clinical anxiety research and in rodent/cell models of GABAergic gene expression.

In patients with generalized anxiety disorder and neurasthenia, selank produced anxiolytic scale-score changes comparable to medazepam with additional antiasthenic score shifts.

In rat frontal cortex, selank altered expression of multiple genes involved in GABAergic neurotransmission in a pattern correlating with GABA administration.
